The Port Elizabeth ecclesia held a yard sale outside the hall in February 2012.
We collected unwanted goods from our members and displayed them along the busy road to to draw in the Saturday traffic.
We discovered this activity not only gave us an opportunity to get rid of our things and raise money for the church but to preach to our customers. We invited them all to our bible class and told them that we'd love to answer any questions they have. We made friends and gave everything a warm introduction to the Port Elizabeth Christadelphians.
The bake sale contributed to a huge amount of the money collected.
Mmm! The Port Elizabeth women sure know how to make delicious treats.
Helpers young and old pitched in and joined the effort.
Some even found a few treasures to keep for themselves.
Other members babysat the rowdy children.
At the end of the 2 hour sale we only had a small bakkie load left that we immediately dropped off at a charity. (And the parents took the rowdy kids home.)
What a fun day! We met new friends and made some money too!
